House of Danar Hadi (abbreviated HDH) is an integrated tourist complex heritageof batik, which is located in the city of Solo in Central Java . HDH established by the company PT Batik batik from Solo Danar Hadi in 2008 and specializes Batik cultural aspects as well as its main tourist attraction.
Building History
HDH is located in an ancient building complex is a cultural heritage , the main building in the HDH is Ndalem Wuryaningratan. This building was once the residence of a prince, grandson of King Solo ( Surakarta ) Sri susuhunanPakubuwono IX and son of His Majesty Sri Pakubuwono X named KRMTA Wuryaningrat. Apart from being a nobleman Raden Wuryaningrat also helped the struggle for independence by joining the movement Oetomo Sampoerna , Raden Wuryaningrat also served as chairman of Parindra (Greater Indonesia Party) and members BPUPKI from Solo. The building was built in the late 19th century with a unique architectural style which is a combination of Java-Europe at the time of duke palace Sosrodiningrat IV (Prime Minister of Surakarta and the father of Raden Wuryaningrat). Over time these buildings become abandoned and filled with grass thatch, until finally purchased PT Danar Hadi in 1999 and renovated. Now the building is converted into a multipurpose function hall.

Ancient Batik Museum
In addition there is also a Ndalem Wuryaningratan ancient batik museum called the Ancient Danar Hadi Batik Museum. This museum is a major tourist attraction in the complex HDH and has opened first in 2002 by Vice President Megawati Sukarnoputri . This museum houses a collection of batik cloth, which reached 10,000 pieces and is recognized by MURI (Indonesian Record Museum) as a museum with the largest collection of batik. Batik cloth on display at the museum from the period and the influence of culture and different environment. One of the most important collections in this museum is the collection of the Dutch batik, batik is influenced by European culture and made by Dutch people who settled in Indonesia in colonial times. This fabric collection is a private collection of H. Santosa Doellah, founder PT Hadi Batik Danar complex which is also the originator of HDH. At the rear there is a museum complex and cap batik factory that can be visited by tourists.

Soga
In addition to the museum there is also Cafe Soga, a café that serves a diverse culinary offer.

Pak Santosa’s grandmother, R.Ngt. Wongsodinomo, sittinggraciously on the far right, discusses batik with a client, amidst piles of batiks. In her day, there was a certain style to sellingbatiks, in which transactions were made with grace and dignity.
Danarsih (2nd from right) and her sister (right) and customers in early 1970, discussing the batiks folded on the table. It was still the custom to sell batik in this informal way, either the customers coming to the house where there were batiks to be sold or the seller taking her wares to the customers. Friends were an important part of the network.
Like most, if not all, batik enterprises in Indonesia, Batik Danar Hadi can trace its history to a home industry and is a classic success story owed to a mixture of birthright, hard work, foresight, and good fortune. Both its founders, Santosa Doellah and his wife Danarsih Hadipriyono, are the descendants of a founder of the Batik Bond that was aimed at breaking the unfavorable monopoly on trade in raw materials for the batik industry. In this, he was following in the footsteps of his father, Haji Bakri, who had been influential in establishing the Sarekat Dagang Islam (Muslim Trading Association) in 1912, together with the legendary nationalist Haji Samanhudi, a neighboring batik entrepreneur in Laweyan.

Have a desire to preserve the culture of Indonesia especially Batik, Haji Doellah Santosa, a lover of this batik had the idea to establish a museum of batik. And there stood the museum named Danar Hadi Batik Museum. Danar Hadi is a Batik company origin from solo.
Danar Hadi Batik Museum is located in the ancient buildings which are of cultural heritage. The building stands in the 19th century with a unique style and is a combination of Java-Europe.
The museum contains various types of Batik from ancient to modern, and also various types of Batik from all regions of Indonesia. There are about 10 thousand Batik fabrics on display at this museum. Mostly the Batik is made in the year of 1840 to 1910 and mostly from Kraton Surakarta, Yogyakarta and several collections from another museum.
In here we not only see different kinds of Batik, but also we are given a short course on how to make Batik, history of Batik and also we can buy a variety of products such as batik clothes, shirts, dresses and various souvenirs of Batik.
